New Holy Grail Winter Cold Remedy?

Winter is upon us folks! I thought I would quickly share an interesting tea remedy on how to kick that awful cold to the curb! *Even if you do not like tea all that much just give it a try!

Disclaimer: I am in no way a trained medical professional, but this quick remedy has helped a lot, plus the ingredients are very beneficial. If you or anyone else under your house hold has on going symptoms or a high grade fever, please seek medical advice.

Now on to this interesting tea remedy and some information about each ingredient used!

The first ingredient is one good sized lemon, at my home I have a lemon tree and it produces lemons for me that are organic, however, your local store has great lemons as well.

*Lemons carry strong antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting powers, it also cleanses the liver. Lemons contain; citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene that promote immunity and fight infection. Which is what you want in helping you fight a cold!

The Second ingredient is ginger, try find one that is the same size as your lemon.

*Ginger is in the same family as Turmeric which is a very potent spice used in aiding colds and much more (I will dedicate a post to Turmeric in the near future) a couple great things about ginger is it isa diaphoretic, meaning that it will warm you from the inside and promote perspiration (sweat out the toxins) it is also used a lot for its positive benefits on the digestive track. Which is why it is going into our remedy!

And last but not least 1 cup of honey. *Honey helps supress a cough, and lessen your sore throat. (It has been said that honey works just as well possibly even better than a cough suppressant and I’s natural!) Honey has a great natural source of carbohydrates which provide strength and energy to our bodies which helps when we are feeling lethargic. It's antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties can help improve digestive system and help you stay healthy and fight cold and diseases. Also honey has antimicrobial properties, which pretty much means it has antibiotic properties, honey not only soothes throats but can also kill certain bacteria that causes the infection.

WARNING!!: Please steer clear of giving infants honey, some honey contains low count of naturally occurring bacterial botulinum spores, which bees collect together with the nectar. These spores cannot be removed during honey processing and cannot be detected by consumers. Which in the end infants can potentially acquire a serious form of food poisoning called botulism so please be weary.

Alright so you have all the ingredients now all you have to do is;

cut up the lemon, ginger, and stick it into a mason jar, or any jar of your choice.

Pour the one cup of honey into the jar as well

Let it sit overnight before using just to make sure it is a bit more powerful (flavor wise.)

The ingredients will not expire for about 2 weeks while in a fridge, so you get a lengthy use out of it.

After 24 hours of letting it sit (you most definitely do not have to wait 24 hours) Boil a pot of water, grab the cup or mug you are going to use, and get your mason jar full of the lemon, honey, and ginger. Scoop about 1 - 2 tablespoons of the liquid into your cup, once the water is the right temperature for you pour it into your cup and say bye bye cold!

PS: You can also add a lemon or two out of the jar to your tea to make it taste better if you would like!

Happy sipping! I hope you all found this helpful and learned something new. Have a go at it and give me your feedback! :)
